Farmers need reliable two way clear communication all over their farms. GMRS for Farmers is a natural team. Farmers need a clear two way communication for miles that CB radios can not cut it anymore.
Farms are big! ever walk one? a small farm is 100 acres and with no cell service, How can you just have a conversation with an employee? You can’t! That is where GMRS radio comes in!

With GMRS radio, You can add “PL” tones to a channel to just hear each other and nobody else. CB radios can not do that at all.
CB radios have only 4 watts where a GMRS walkie Talkie has 5 watts and typical mobile GMRS radios start with 15 watts and can have as much as 50 watts to get you heard and to hear your employees!
GMRS Mobile Radios
GMRS mobile radios are very easy to install. It would take longer to open the box that the two way radio came in then installing it!
GMRS antennas are very easy to mount. I suggest a magnet mount antenna so you can go from one machine to another machine with the same GMRS radio! All GMRS antennas must be mounted on the roof. The longer the GMRS is better for distance BUT a 1/4 wave GMRS antenna can almost give you the same performance just like the long one!
GMRS Licence
1 licence is needed for the whole family. Just go to our homepage and look for the link and you will get a call sign in a few days if that long. The FCC is fast with GMRS as even they know how important GMRS radio is!
Easiest GMRS radios to set up:
The easiest GMRS radios to set up for Farm use:
We picked Midland USA for this. They build commercial duty GMRS radio equipment at reasonable prices. We are not sponsored by them or have ever received any equipment from them for free. In our group MidlandUSA GMRS radio equipment was very easy to set up and very user friendly. I own MidlandUSA GMRS radios and equipment. They do have a 50 watt GMRS radio hitting the market soon and we can’t wait!
GMRS base radio set up.
Any GMRS mobile radio can be turned into a base GMRS radio very easily. I suggest a high watt radio, a trickle charger and an AGM battery to supply the radio with power. A base GMRS antenna will have to be installed with coax on the highest point you can put it and you are in business!
GMRS radio help for Farmers.
One of the Farmers we helped said his neighbor has GMRS radios and they now talk to each other when working on the farm. I personally love the idea! Both Farmers said that things seem to run smoother and not waiting around for information and that is where GMRS radios do pay for themselves.
If you are a farmer and do not know how to start using GMRS radios please contact us and we will be glad to help you. God Bless the American Farmer!
