Getting involved in our group is easy but there are very important steps that have to be done. First is getting your GMRS FCC License and call sign. There is a link to that on our main page under important links. You need a FCC GMRS call sign before you can join our group. This 10 year license lasts 10 years and is for your entire family to use.
Next is to buy some GMRS two way radios. Either mobile, base or handheld walkie talkie will get you on the air.
Next is to email us with your call sign and we will give you the information to put it into your radios and that’s it!
We are a family friendly group! Once you join you will also receive other ways to communicate with the rest of the group.
THAT’S IT!!

I’m looking for some help getting my midland mxt575 up and running. Have been listening for about 3 weeks and trying to get a reply from some of the people I was listening to and hoping for a reply with no luck. Seems they all on repeaters. Print in the destructions are printed so small you need a microscope to read them and not completely understandable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sir:
All MidlandUSA GMRS radios come with a small manual that helps alot. Keep it safe at all times!
Almost all repeaters on Long Island are “Pay to Play”, So you would have to join a repeater club to use their repeaters.
There are “Open” GMRS repeaters out there. A good one is in Bridgeport CT.
Let us know how you make out.

I have a HAM license, N2LIR. I am introducing my son-in-law and his children to GMRS radios. He got his GMRS license. I want to introduce him to repeaters. Can you give me the information I need to use your repeater? We all have the Baofeng GMRS 9R radio.
